Ron Chino

Part-time Specialty Instructor

Ron is an MIT Lifeguard, Pool Deck Manager, MIT Recreational Swimming Instructor and part-time Physical Education and Wellness Instructor. Ron started teaching swim courses with Physical Education and Wellness in 2023. Ron has extensive experience in swimming, water survival, and instruction from his time as a Marine Corps Aviator. Ron has his Bachelor of Science in History from the U.S. Naval Academy and Master of Business Administration from Auburn University. He is also a Red Cross Lifeguard with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers. He loves being part of the MIT community, who shares a passion for learning, and encourages everyone to remain lifelong learners. Outside of MIT, Ron is a part-time sound engineer, attends Berkeley College of Music, and also loves indoor skydiving, swimming, trail running, ultra-marathons, attending concerts and Broadway shows, and brunch!

River, Lake, or Ocean- I love enjoying the views and sounds. It is where I go to reset and re-center.
